BYU Football Will Count On New Offensive Coordinator Jeff Grimes To Right Sinking Ship

Despite last season’s 4-9 record, optimism abounds in the BYU football offices as the Cougars prepare for the 2018 season and a wicked September schedule that includes trips to Arizona, Wisconsin and Washington and a home contest against California.

The reason for the unexpected buoyancy of spirits is the arrival of new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes, hired away from LSU at significant expense to a program that generally keeps a tight grip on its purse-strings when it comes to paying market value to its coaches.

“Coach Grimes just exudes confidence, and everybody feels it,” quarterback Tanner Mangum said.
