BYU aims to rebound from tough year, is No. 59 with 2018 preseason college football rankings

How quickly things turned at BYU.

The Cougars followed up a successful nine-win season in 2016 — the first under new coach Kalani Sitake — with one of the program’s worst seasons since the early 1970s.

Offensive woes coupled with a rash of turnovers led the team to struggle to put points on the scoreboard. Sitake overhauled the coaching staff, including adding Jeff Grimes (offensive coordinator) and Aaron Roderick (passing coordinator, quarterbacks coach).
