BYU’s Ed Lamb has seen historic seasons rise from disappointing ones

For players, coaches and fans, it’s hard to shake the disappointment of the 2017 BYU football season. The porous offense, the lopsided losses, and the worst record for a Cougar team since before a man named LaVell Edwards took over.
But even with that year as a backdrop, the Cougars showcased optimism last week at their annual media event. At least one Cougar coach has been in this situation before, and he’s seen history — the good kind — follow.
